Site opens at 4 PM Friday, and closes at 10 am Sunday.
Stop in at the Bloody Bells Tavern and rest your feet! Come socialize with other travelers. Grab a bite to eat and sample our meads and wines. Play some games and try your luck. If you are a bard, please perform for us. Take a class and learn something new. Looking to unload some of your wares, then trade with others for more useful items. Tavern brawls and archery too! Come spend the weekend with us at the tavern!
Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to try to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.
Do you have a quick mind with words? Can you create a story, song, or poem? Each competitor will use 10 of the 12 words plus a bonus heraldic term. Filks are allowed. Competition ends Saturday afternoon with your performance of your bardic piece.
Come practice your bardic skills and perform to become Darkwater’s Bardic Champion.
Tavern Brawl – Heavy and Light Weapons
Challenge your opponent or throw down the gauntlet, but please, take your fight outside!
Light and heavy weapons tourney, challenge opponent with words (your mother smells of elderberries) or the proverbial gauntlet slap.
Targets are moving! Is it your eyes or are you tipsy? Come challenge yourself if you can.
Baronial Huntsman competition – will you become Darkwater’s huntsman?
Axes, knives, and spears – oh my! Try your luck at the thrown weapons range.
Children’s Activities – Scavenger Hunt
Start in the tavern and receive your treasure box and get a sneak peek at what treasures you could find. Items will be placed around the site. Cabins will be off limits. There will be 2 age groups, 6 and under and 7 and up. Items will be visibly marked with the heraldic dolphin (6 and under) or the trident (over 7). We ask that each age group collects the marked items for their age group. There are equal numbers of items. A picture display will be set up in the tavern to mark off items as they are found. The child of both age groups with the most items will be declared the winner. Children will be able to decorate their boxes after lunch. Materials will be provided.
Note: Children’s activities will not be supervised. Parents please assist your children.
